Dieser Zoo wurde im Jahr 1875 vom Prinz of Wales eingeweiht und hat eine Ausdehnung von 100 acres.Er ist einer der aeltesten und groessten in Indien.Es gibt eine grosse Anzahl verschiedener Tiere und sie leben in artgerechter Umgebung.Es gibt weisse Tiger, eine Kreuzung aus Tiger und Loewe – Tigon-, eine Kreuzung aus Tigon und Loewen – Litigon, sowie eine Landschildkroete, die noch aelter als der Zoo ist.Ausserdem Giraffen, Kaengurus, Affen, Nilpferde, Reptilien und viele Voegel.Die Einwohner Kolkatas schaetzen diesen Park als Picknickplatz.Auf der anderen Strassenseite findet man ein Aquarium, hier gibt es Fische und andere Meeresbewohner zu bewundern.
