Der Kamateshwari Tempel

Description:
ist ein feines Beispiel der bengalischen Tempelarchitektur aus dem 17. Jahrhundert und die Hauptattraktion der Stadt Gosanibari, etwa 37 km von Coochbehar und 8 km westlich der Dinhata Bahnstation. Der originelle Tempel wurde irgendwann zerstört, niemand weiß wann genau. Aber auch die heutige Anlage ist über 300 Jahre alt, von dem Maharaja Pran Narayan im Jahr 1665 gebaut. Der Tempel ist der Götting Kamateshwari, einer Inkarnation Parvatis, d.h. der Gemahlin Shivas, gewidmet.
