Jahrhunderts der Wohnsitz der Tagores und wurde dann in die Rabindra Bharti Universitaet umgewandelt.Hier wurde der grosse Poet und Nobelpreistraeger Rabindranath Tagore geboren und aufgezogen.Das Museum im Innern der Universitaet beinhaltet viele Werke der Tagores, insbesondere von Rabindranath und Abanindranath.Der name Jorashanko stammt von den Zwillingstempeln des Gottes Shiva ( Shankar) in der Naehe.
