Als der König Varman den Sitz seines Reiches hierher verlegte, soll es hier kein Wasser gegeben haben. Die Priester und Wahrsager prophezeiten, dass es Wasser geben wird, nur wenn der Sohn des Königs geopfert würde. Die Königin hörte dies und wechselte ihren eigenen Sohn mit dem ihrer Kammerdienerin/Hebamme. Sobald das Opfer vollzogen wurde, strömte das Wasser, aber die Hebamme verlor ihren Sohn. Zum Andenken an ihre Wohltat ist dieser Tempel ihr gewidmet.
