Dieses ist die aelteste von Europaern gebaute Kirche in Indien.Vasco da Gama, der portugiesische Haendler, wurde waehrend seines 3. Besuchs hier sehr krank und starb. Man setzte ihn in dieses Kirche bei.Seine sterblichen Ueberreste wurden dann nach Portugal ueberfuehrt, aber seine urspruengliche Grabstaette ist bis heute in der Kirche gekennzeichnet.
