Srisailam Staudamm

( 98 km von Markapuram) Dieser Damm staut den Fluss Krishna und befindet sich in einer tiefen Schlucht innerhalb des Nallamalai - Gebirges.Dieser Staudamm liegt inmitten wunderschoener Natur.Er befindet sich 300 m ueber N.N., hat eine Laenge von 512 m, 12 Tore und ist eines der groessten Wasserkraftwerke in Indien.Mit dem Bau des Dammes wurde die Bewaesserung von ca 80000 h in den Distrikten Kurnool und Cuddapah moeglich, die bis dahin entsetzlich unter Duerrezeiten zu leiden hatten.Um den Hauptdamm zu besuchen, ist eine besondere Genehmigung erforderlich.
