Dieser Ort war einst als Fedricnagar bekannt und stellte von 1793 bis 1834 ein Zentrum missionarischer Aktivitaet dar.Srirampur ist nur 25 km von Kolkata entfernt und war in der Vergangenheit von einiger Bedeutung.Bis zum Jahr 1845, als die East India Company die Stadt uebernahm, war e seine daenische Siedlung.Bis zum heutigen Tage kann man hier das Haus des daenischen Gouverneurs, die roemisch-katholische Kirche und sie St.-Olaf-Kirche finden.Im Srirampur College ist ein Museum untergebracht, in dem es eine Ausstellung ueber die Missionare Dr. Williams Carey, Ward, Marshman und deren Aktivitaeten gibt.
Sabujdweep, das heisst "Gruene Insel", liegt 75 km von Kolkata und Chandananagor entfernt und war einst eine gut geplante franzoesische Siedlung.
