Etwa 12 km südlich von Alwar liegen der Wasserpalast und der See, umgeben von bewachsenen Hügeln. Es gibt eine romantische Legende über diesen Ort. Ein Prinz hörte auf seinem ausritt ein schönes Dorfmädchen singen, und verliebte sich in sie. Später baute Maharaja Vinay Singh für seine Königin Sheila einen herrlichen Palast und eine Jagdhütte, mit einem Blick auf den See. Heute ist dieser Palast ein Hotel - das Hotel Lake Palace.
