Dieses ist einer der aeltesten Tempel in ganz Suedindien.Er stammt aus dem 8. Jahrhundert und ist ein gutes Beispiel fuer die Anfaenge der Dravidischen Bauweise.Der Shore- Tempel befindet sich an einem ganz besonderen Ort, er liegt so dicht an der Wasserkante, dass hohe Wellen einfach in ihn hineinwaschen.Diese Lage hat natuerlich zur Folge, dass der Tempel, und auch seine Skulpturen, im Laufe der letzten 13. Jahrhunderte von Wind und Wellen gegerbt worden ist.
