Der beliebteste Strand West-Bengalens befindet sich in einer Entfernung von 185 km von Kolkata, das sind ungefaehr 6 Stunden Autofahrt.Der Strand heisst Digha Beach und wird auch Brighton des Ostens genannt.Der Strand ist flach und der Sand ist hart.Der Strand von Junput ist 40 km von Digha entfernt und erfreut sich erst seit kurzem grosser Beliebtheit.Aber auch dieser Strand ist bezaubernd, er ist von Casurinen gesaeumt und bietet ein eindrucksvolles Panorama.In Junput gibt es ein Forschungszentrum fuer Meeresbiologie und es ist ausserdem der Kern der Forschung zur Fischereiindustrie und auch der Erforschung der Haifischoelindustrie.Weiterhin gibt es in Junput eine Entenzucht.
Ca 14 km von Dingha entfernt findet man das alte Fischerdorf Shankarpur.Hierbei handelt es sich um ein Resort, das sich rasant entwickelt.In Shankarpur hat man all die Annehmlichkeiten, die man auch in Digha findet, allerdings ohne die Menschenmassen.Abgesehen vom langen, baumbestandenen Strand bildet auch das oertliche Projekt Fischereihafen eine Attraktion.
