( 16 km von Varanasi) Diese beeindruckende Fort befindet sich am Ufer des Flusses Ganges.Bis zum heutigen Tag ist es die Residenz der koeniglichen Familie von Varanasi.Die Durbar-Hall wurde zum Museum umgewandelt und hier sind Gegenstaende aus dem koeniglichen Besitz, wie Waffen und Elfenbein ausgestellt.Waehrend des Dussehra-Festivals findet hier das Ramlila statt.Ramlila ist das Helden-Epos um Ram aus dem Ramayana.Es wird als Theaterstueck mit Liedern dargeboten.Einen Monat vor dem Beginn des Dussehra-Festes wird mit dem Stueck angefangen und es endet an Dussehra mit dem Sieg Rams ueber den Daemonen Ravan.
