Belur Math und Ramakrishna Tempel: Diese beiden Tempel befinden sich in der Zwillingsstadt Howrah, die 6 km von Kolkata entfernt liegt.Das Belur Math ist das Hauptquartier der Ramakrishna Mission, die 1898 von Swami Vivekananda gegruendet worden ist.Hier wird der Heilige Ramakrishna Paramhans verehrt, der im Grunde die Einheit aller Religionen anstrebte.Um dieses Bestreben deutlich zu machen, hat man einen Tempel gebaut, der je nach Blickwinkel, entweder wie eine Kirche, ein Tempel oder eine Moschee aussieht.
