Etwa 50 km von Udaipur entfernt liegt Pilak Pith, ein heiliger Ort für Hindus sowie Buddhisten. Man findet hier Ruinen aus dem 7. und 9. Jahrhundert A.D. Zahlreiche schöne Gottesbilder sind hier aufgefunden worden, unter ihnen auch gewaltige Steinfiguren von den Göttern Avolokiteschwar und Narasimha. Mit seinen eindrucksvollen Terrakotta Tafeln ist Pilak eine wahre Fundgrube einer heterodoxen Vergangenheit, die noch nicht ganz entdeckt worden ist.
