Dieser Ort ist auch als Harmandir Ki Thakt bekannt und ist eines der Takhts ausserhalb des Pandschabs.Dieser Platz ist fuer Sikh-Pilger wichtig, da es der Geburtsort des 10. Sikh Gurus, Guru Gobind Singh, ist.Dieser wurde hier im Jahr 1666 geboren, verbrachte hier seine Kindheit und zog schliesslich in den Pandschab.Im Tempel findet man persoenliche Gegenstaende aus der Kindheit des Gurus.Der urspruengliche Tempel fiel einer Feuersbrunst zum Opfer und wurde dann von Maharaja Ranjit Singh aus dem Pandschab im Jahr 1934 wiederaufgebaut.Dieser marmorne Tempel wurde dann waehrend eines massiven Erdbebens zerstoert.Das heutige Gebaeude stammt aus dem Jahr 1954.Das Patna Sahib liegt im Herzen der Stadt und zieht viele Besucher an.Der Geburtstag Guru Gobind Singhs wird gross mit einem Fest gefeiert.
