Connolly benannt, dem Collector des Distrikts Malabar, der es sich zur Aufgabe gemacht hatte, den Teakanbau in dieser Gegend voranzutreiben.In der Naehe der Nilambur-Gudallur Strasse gibt das weltweit erste Teakmuseum und eine Unterabteilung des Kerala Forest Research Instituts.Das Museum ist in einem zweistoeckigen Gebaeude untergebracht und die Ausstellung beinhaltet Artikel von geschichtlichem, aesthetischem und wissenschaftlichem Wert.
