Um einen wirklich spektakulaeren Blick auf die Himalayas zu haben, sollte man hierher, nach Kausani im Kumaon Gebirge ,in Uttaranchal kommen.Diese verschlafene Kleinstadt wird oft " Uttaranchals Schweiz" genannt und ist der Geburtsort des Poeten Sumitra Nandan Pant.Kausani liegt landschaftlich wunderschoen inmitten dichter Waelder und unberuehrter Natur.Wanderlustige und Kulturfreunde kommen hier auf ihre Kosten.Es gibt den Anashakti Ashram, zu dem Mahatma Gandhi eine Verbindung hatte, dieser Ashram ist das heimliche Zentrum der Stadt.Baijnath, Someshwar und Pinakeshwar sind religioese Staetten, die einen Besuch wert sind.Ausserdem gibt es Wanderwege, auf denen man seine eigene Entdeckungsreise starten kann.Das Klima ist das ganze Jahr ueber angenehm, mit heftigen Regenfaellen von Mitte Juli bis September und Schneefall in den Monaten Dezember und Januar.
