Jain Temple of Jainimedu

Dieser historische Tempel befindet sich am westlichen Rand Palkkads, in der Naehe des Bahnhofs.Die Gegend um den Tempel wird Jainimedu genannt.Dieses ist einer der wenigen Orte in Kerala, an denen es noch wenig beschaedigte Ueberbleibsel des Jaintums gibt.Die Granitwaende sind bar jeder Dekoration.Der ca 10 m lange und 7 m breite Tempel ist viergeteilt und es gibt Abbildungen der Jain Thirtankaras und Yakshinis in drei der Unterteilungen.Hier wurde das monumentale Gedicht "Veena Poovu" (die gefallenen Blumen) von Kumaran Asan, waehrend seines kurzen Aufenthaltes beim Grossen Meister Sri Narayana Guru, verfasst.
