GAJNER PALAST

Description:
Gajner Palast war der Sommersitz des Maharajas von Bikaner, und wird oft das unvergleichbare Juwel der Thar Wüste genannt. Er wurde von Ganga Singh aus Bikaner gebaut und steht an einem See. Der Palast wurde hauptsächlich zur verschwenderischen Unterhaltung von wichtigen Gästen benutzt. Indische und ausländische Königsfamilien und Minister haben hier ihre Gäste empfangen. Die Handarbeit ist wunderschön mit fein geschnitzten Säulen, Rädern und Bildern. Der Palast ist von einer geschützten Landschaft umgeben, mit Tieren und Vögeln wie Chinkaras (Gazella bennettii), Schwarzböcken, Nilgais und einer Schar von Moorhühnern. Ein Teil des Palastes ist heute ein Hotel.
