Ca 93 km von Karwar entfernt befindet sich Dandeli, welches ein beliebtes Urlaubsziel ist.In dieser Stadt ist aber auch einiges an Industrie angesiedelt.Es gibt hier ein Naturschutzgebiet, das eine Flaeche von 207 qkm beansprucht, hier gibt es viele seltene Tiere zu sehen, am besten klettert man auf den Aussichtsturm, der allerdings waehrend des Monsoons ( Juni bis Oktober) nicht zugaenglich ist.Der Wald bietet eine Quelle fuer die Papierherstellung, Nutzholz und Teak.Die Industrie stellt Eisenmangan her.Weiterhin interessant ist eine Hoehle, in der es Lateritformationen gibt, die an Shivalingams erinnern.
