Der sehr beeindruckende Turm des gleichnamigen Tempels nennt ein glitzerndes, goldenes Kalasam sein eigen.Der Tempel selbst ist fuer die Kaste der Nadars wichtig, die in der Vergangenheit schlecht behandelt worden sind.Es gibt ein eigenes Kommitee, das sich um die taeglichen Belange wie Poojas und Festivals kuemmert.Der Tempel wurde seit 1983 immer wieder renoviert.Das Rajagopuram brauchte 8 Jahre fuer seine Fertigstellung und wird fuer den hoechsten Kalitempelturm gehalten.
