Kaziranga National Park is renowned as one of the finest and most picturesque wildlife refuges in southern Asia. It protects the worlds largest Indian rhinoceros population, as well as many other threatened species. It is situated on the southern bank of the Brahmaputra River at the foot of the Mikir Hills.
