Jotiba liegt im Norden Kolhapurs und ist eins der beiden Jyotirlingas.Jotiba liegt auf einem Huegel inmitten von ueppigem Gruen.Der urspruengliche Tempel wurde von Navajisaya im Jhare 1730 gebaut.Dieser Tempel, der ca 100 ueber N.N. liegt ist dem Gott Shiva gewidmet, dessen Idol hier vierhaendig ist.Laut der Mythologie half Jotiba der Goettin Mahalaxmi bei ihrem Kampf gegen die Daemonen, spaeter legte er dann hier den Grundstein zu seinem Herrschaftsgebiet.
